Broken and Healed Poem & Message

Broken and Healed

I was broken because of my sins;

I am healed because Jesus died on the cross to forgive them.
I was broken because sin’s wages is death;
I am healed because God raised Jesus from the dead.
I was broken because of my uncle’s sin;
I am healed because God delivered me from him.
I was broken because I feared no one would believe me;
I am healed because Jesus believed me.
I was broken by my uncle’s voice, No one can hear you scream
I am healed today because you hear my voice!
I was broken when I wanted to slice my wrist;
I was healed when God sent someone to save me.
I was broken by the shame I felt because of it;
I am healed because a brother in Christ counseled me.
I was broken because I could not forgive him;
I am healed because Christ showed me how.
I was broken from my blindness to see God’s Grace;
I am healed because God has given me eyes to see it!
After my uncle’s abuse, my healing stalled as I struggled to forgive him. But that began to change when my uncle apologized to me after he suffered an aneurysm and a stroke that caused him to lose a leg. He further added that God had used this situation to get his attention that he needed to repent and to receive Jesus as his savior. Since Jesus had forgiven me for my sins, I knew it was time for me to forgive my uncle too, “[For] God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” God sent his son to die on the cross to forgive our sins, and then afterword he raised him from the dead. That is the Gospel. Our repentance and belief in it is what saves us from Hell. This is God’s free gift to the world, still available to anyone who wishes to receive it: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” www.Harrisinkwell.com
Dear Jesus,
I know I’m a sinner and would be lost in Hell without You; please forgive me and come into my life and save me. I believe You died on the cross for my sins, and that God Your Father raised you from the dead. I repent and receive You as my Savior now.

Amen!
